The Board of Haaga-Helia Student Union Helga has appointed Tekla Kosonen as Helga’s new Executive Director. Tekla will begin in her position in September. Tekla is a soon-to-be-graduated Community Educator and has previously worked as a Project Manager at SAMOK and as a Community Coordinator at Specia – Experts and managerial professionals .
“Helga is clearly entering a new chapter, and I couldn’t be happier with the team that will be writing it. With Tekla’s fresh energy and determined approach, I know that Helga’s future is in capable hands.” says Otso Muhonen, Chair of the Board.
The Executive Director’s responsibilities are diverse, but most importantly, Tekla will be responsible for Helga’s strategic leadership, operations, and development.
“I am extremely grateful for the trust placed in me! It is exciting to take on such a diverse field of responsibilities and to have the opportunity to work with a skilled and knowledgeable team. At the same time, I will have the opportunity to grow as a leader and develop as part of Helga. I’m looking forward to everything the role of Executive Director will bring.” comments the newly appointed Executive Director.
Tekla will officially begin her role on the 15th of September 2026.
