At the Representative Council meeting on May 11, 2026, a decision will be made on granting a mandate to run for positions on the boards of the National Union of Students in Finland (SAMOK) and the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL). Receiving the mandate does not mean that the applicant will be selected for a position in the organization, but it guarantees the opportunity to run as Helga’s candidate. The student union and its experts will support the candidate throughout the entire election period. Candidates are expected to have the time and commitment for the full election cycle, during which they will, for example, participate in panel discussions, meet and introduce themselves to various stakeholders, and engage in negotiations related to the upcoming elections.
The new SAMOK board will be elected at the general assembly in October 2026. The OLL board will be elected at its general assembly in November 2026. The term for both boards is the calendar year 2027.
You can apply for Helga’s mandate by submitting a free-form application to the Representative Council of Helga via email ([email protected]) or by putting yourself forward as a candidate at the Representative Council meeting on May 11, 2026. More detailed information about the meeting will be announced later. Applicants must be members of Helga and commit to following Helga’s values and political program. The official languages of SAMOK and OLL are Finnish and Swedish.
