We at Helga work for a safer student community and are there for you if you experience harassment or inappropriate behavior.
What is harassment?
Harassment is behavior that intentionally violates the dignity of another person. In harassment, a person creates an atmosphere that demeans, humiliates, threatens, is hostile or attacks another person. Harassment or discrimination can be, for example, comments about another person’s sexual orientation, disability, or origin, or sexual and gender-based verbal, nonverbal, or physical behavior that creates a subjugating and harmful atmosphere.
In order for everyone to feel safe in Helga’s activities, events and studying at Haaga-Helia, we use, for example, the following policies:
- We follow the principles of a safer space in all our activities
- Our website has a Specialist Help form that you can use to report harassment by name or anonymously. You can find the form here.
- Helga has three full-time harassment contact persons who are also Helga’s employees. You can contact them using the previously mentioned form or by email: hairintayhdyshenkilo@helga.fi
- At Helga’s events, there are always at least two (2) harassment contact persons present
If you experience or witness harassment or inappropriate behavior, contact us. By contacting us, you ensure that the cases come to our attention and can be dealt with.
