The Student Union of Haaga-Helia – Helga’s board has chosen Julia Tuuri as the new specialist responsible for tutoring, sport services and events. Tuuri is a Bachelor of Hospitality Management in Event Management from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.
In her position, Tuuri will be working as part of Helga’s community team. Her main responsibilities include the development of the student union as a community, something that is also a strategic level main goal for Helga in the coming years.
“I can not wait to start my work for the well-being of Haaga-Helia’s students. I get to return to the Student Union as a specialist and give everything back to the community that once gave everything to me”, Tuuri tells.
Tuuri is currently the president of the Finnish Student Sports Federation. She has previously acted as the vice-chairperson of the Student Union of Haaga-Helia – Helga and led the community team. Additionally, she has practical experience in tutoring and a strong background in sports club activities.
“Building the student community is a key focus area of the current strategy of Helga. This is where Julia brings fresh ideas. Thanks to her background she also has both education and experience so that the vision would become reality in all fields of her job description”, states the executive director Jani Mäntysaari.
Helga’s office warmly welcomes Julia as part of our team. Julia Tuuri begins in her new position in late November.
