The Student Union of Haaga-Helia – Helga’s board has chosen Anna Laurila (BBA) as the new Executive Director of the Student Union. Laurila transfers to the position from a ministry funded project of Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Previously she has served as the president of the University of Applied Sciences Students in Finland – SAMOK and as the chairperson of the board of the Students’ Union of Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Currently Laurila is studying political science at the University of Turku.
“Anna convinced us with her strategic knowledge, diverse organisational experience and visions about enhancing the Student Union activities by emphasizing involvement. She has all the necessary qualities for guiding the Student Union to the next strategy period”, reflects Helga’s chairperson of the board Minna Huurrekorpi.
The strategy of the Student Union will be renewed next year. The Executive Director will be able to envision the future, analyze different scenarios and define the guidelines for development work in a collaborative way. Fundraising and adding value for the members are other essential work assignments as well as organizational management.
”I’m enthusiastic about my new job in Helga and working with and for the students of Haaga-Helia. Especially I look forward to reshape the strategy and naturally to meet all the actives”, states Helga’s new Executive Director Anna Laurila.
The new Executive Director starts in her position on 14.12.2021.
