The Student Union of Haaga-Helia – Helga’s board has chosen Katja Silvasti as the new specialist responsible for communications and member service. Silvasti has Master of Arts and Community Educator (Bachelor) degrees. In her position Silvasti will be working as part of Helga’s communications and support teams. Her main responsibilities include the development of communications and digital possibilities in member service, both of which are also strategic level main goals and themes for Helga in the coming years.
”Helga is doing a meaningful job to influence and to promote students’ interests, so I’m excited to start working as a specialist on communications and member services! I’m looking forward to the autumn and what it brings on as well as to work with the volunteers and specialists to achieve common goals”, Silvasti tells.
Silvasti has multifaceted background in the field of higher education and NGOs both as an employee and as an active. Similar previous tasks in communications and customer service have increased her experience and competence.
“I believe that since Katja has comprehensive experience from interactions with students, she brings new perspective and fresh ideas to develop Helga’s communications and member service”, states the executive director Jani Mäntysaari. Helga’s office warmly welcomes Katja as part of our team. Katja Silvasti begins in her new position on 30.8.2021.
