The 27th General Assembly of University of Applied Sciences Students in Finland – SAMOK was organised from the 27th to 28th of October 2022 in the city of Tampere. Haaga-Helia’s Student Union Helga’s chair of the board Diana Muraskina was elected Vice President of the board to SAMOK for 2023.
I am very grateful for the trust placed in me by the General Assembly. Students and student unions are future trendsetters in society and higher education institutions. Sufficient funding must be secured for student unions so that they can protect the interests of their members with sufficient resources. Next year’s parliamentary elections are an important place to advocate, but the work does not end on election day. Long-term work that transcends boards operating periods to improve the status of the student movement and especially the student councils must be the union’s goal now and in the future”, sums up Diana.
Joonas Soukkio from Tampere University of Applied Sciences Student Union TAMKO was elected President of the board for 2023. Elected members of the board were Halla Kokkonen (O’Diako), Minni Takala (KAAKKO), Adel Rizvi (Metka) and Oona Pappila (SAVOTTA).
