Eppu Åberg is the new Executive Director of Helga

The Student Union of Haaga-Helia – Helga’s board has chosen Eppu Åberg as the new Executive Director of the Student Union.

Eppu Åberg graduated with a degree in business administration from Turku University of Applied Sciences, with his advanced studies in marketing, events, sponsorship, and management. Åberg has a long organizational history, including the student union TUO’s positions of trustee, acting as the chairperson of the Students of Business and Technology, and most recently as the vice president of the Akava’s Student Council.

“It’s absolutely wonderful to be able to start as Helga’s new Executive Director! For a long time, I have worked for the protection of the interests of students and recent graduates, and I look forward to continuing this work in Haaga-Helia as well.” commented Helga’s new Executive Director Eppu Åberg.

The executive director gets to envision the future, analyze different scenarios and define the guidelines of the development work in a collaborative way, because this year is the first year of implementation of the student union’s new strategy. Fundraising and adding value for the members are other essential work assignments as well as organizational management.

“Åberg convinced us with his expertise and experience in the field of organizations and his idea-rich views regarding the development of the student union. We believe that Eppu has all the prerequisites for the strategic management of our student body and that he will bring new ways to develop our operations at Helga. ”, reflects Janina Brunfeldt, Helga’s chairperson of the board.

The new Executive Director starts in the position on 21st of August 2023.
