Raflarumba Appro is looking for a project manager

Do you want to earn your stripes as the organiser of Finland’s fastest growing appro? Are you interested in a responsible role as a developer of student culture? Do you dare to take responsibility for big projects and can handle both the details and the large scale? If you answered “damn right” to the above questions, you are the person we are looking for!

RaflaRumba Appro, which has grown rapidly in the capital region in recent years and is particularly popular with students at universities of applied sciences, is looking for a project manager to implement the event. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing the 2025 event within the framework of the objectives set by the RaflaRumba Appro Steering Group.

To successfully carry out the role of Project Manager, you must have:

  • Experience of organising events of a similar size
  • Experience in project management, budgeting and leadership.
  • Solid knowledge of student and UAS culture
  • Knowledge of the restaurant scene in the metropolitan area
  • Interest and experience in event production
  • Ability to work in Finnish and English – Working language Finnish
  • Marketing and communication skills as well as graphic design skills are considered an advantage

The role of Project Manager is contract-based and is particularly suited to someone who already has experience in event production, for example in student organisations, and a background in higher education. The implementation of RaflaRumba Appro 2025 can also be easily learnt, for example through a thesis, project or work placement.

The Project Manager will be responsible for recruiting and managing the project team for the RaflaRumba Appro in early March 2025, preparing the project and marketing plan and budget, negotiating contracts with restaurants, selecting potential performers and, after the event, reviewing, analysing and proposing improvements.

The Project Manager reports on their work to the RaflaRumba Appro Steering Group.

A lump sum of €1000 will be paid as a contract fee at the end of the event. The Project Manager will also have the opportunity to earn 7.5% of the event’s profit, provided the objectives set by the Steering Group are met.
